Since then have exhibited and sold my work internationally in USA, London and Dorset and some of my luckier artworks have made their way Portugal, Monaco, Malaysia, Quatar & Australia !!
After moving to Dorset I found a Printing course and amongst other print processes, fell in love with Screenprinting - a fantastically versatile technique which can be applied to many surfaces including fabric, so has endless possibilities - and then my work took a different direction !
I made several works in the traditional screenprinting manner - using photographic & paper plates, but then soon went ‘off piste’ when I started mixing colours on the screen - the results looked more like a painting than a print and my editions were varied !!!
I enjoyed the ‘imperfections’ that appear when pushing the print-making boundaries, so decided to embrace these perfect accidents and develop my own spontaneous approach to print-making. At the same time my images became increasingly abstract.
As my art evolved, I struggled to know what to call it - then finally settled on ‘Unique Abstract Monotypes’ which seems to describe it best....
